巨大なおっぱい警察の世界

The runaway success of My Sister’s A Beauty Queen has lead to a major uptick in anime series focusing on massively-busted characters, but none have done so quite as openly or as shamelessly as 巨大なおっぱい警察の世界, or “Giant-Breasted Police-Woman Planet!”

Its hook – if you could call it that – is that it’s an otherwise unremarkable detective anime, right down to the predictable story beats of a grizzled veteran paired with a bright-eyed newcomer, a no-nonsense police chief, a serial killer on the loose with ties to the local ruling elite, and everything else you can find in the cliché handbook for cop shows. However, as you can see from the screenshot above, every woman in the alternate Earth has simply titanic constantly-exposed breasts.

This is never remarked upon by any members of the cast, outside of small talk about accidentally bumping into things, and the occasional comment on how nice someone’s nipples look that day. And I do mean every woman, from the mayor to the flower-girl on the corner. They’re all burdened with boobs that would put the biggest big-bust model to shame.

Reviews are, somewhat surprisingly, mixed. While most excoriate the show for its predictable pacing, a few are willing to give it credit for sticking to its premise and taking it seriously. At least one review has called it subversively feminist in its treatment of its massive boobs as utterly non-sexual.

As for this reviewer, I’ve got better ways to entertain myself, both on the boobie front and the police procedural one. Two thumbs down.
